The children have made a super start to Year 3!
In English we’ve been looking at the whole school story called ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies. We emerged ourselves in the story by using role play to help retell the story, each child planted an acorn to understand the feelings of the main character and we created a story map. Currently, this week, the children have been drafting their version of the story.
For Topic this term, we will be focusing on The Stone Age. So far we’ve already made a paper mache Stone Age axe! During Outdoor Learning, the children have been making Stone Age jewelry using clay to represent animal bones.
This week, each child will come home with a set of spellings and a reading book. The children will have a week to learn the spellings before being tested every Thursday afternoon. We would like the reading book to come back into school every Wednesday so that the books can be cleaned and placed into isolation before sending the children home with a new book on Friday’s.
Hope you have a good weekend!
