A very busy week
As part of our World Book Day celebrations many of the children (and members of staff!) came to school resplendent in some amazing costumes based on characters from their favourite books. When I was greeting children at the gate in the morning I was handed a letter (cover image for this week’s blog) by the Jolly Postman. It was a wonderful, inspirational way to start the school day. I know children really enjoyed the range of book activities that took place during the day, including reading books with the partner year group.
Swiftly following World Book Day we had a curriculum science day when all the children were able to see for themselves a range of reptiles. I know that they were fascinated to find out more about these remarkable creatures, including the remarkable size of some crocodiles, as well as their amazing capacity to eat large animals!
Later on Friday we had the third of our school discos- one for each pair of year groups. We are very fortunate that a new member of FOBPS has a real expertise (and the equipment!) to make sure that, when combined with members of staff giving up their time, the disco for our older children was just as successful as the previous 2 had been for younger children. I have no doubt that we will be repeating these events again in the not too distant future.
