“Ah, music," he said, wiping his eyes. "A magic beyond all we do here!”  Dumbledore, The Philosopher’s Stone, J.K. Rowling.
Music can seem magical, through the way it can transport our emotions and thoughts. It can also play a very magical or special part in education:
“Music helps children to develop their language, reading skills, mathematical skills, motor skills when learning a new instrument, coordination, memory skills and team work to name but a few.  But most of all it’s the joy of performing and making memories which I believe is most important” says Ms Coles, specialist music teacher, Bloxham Primary School.
Very few primary schools have their own music teacher and at Bloxham we are one of those lucky few.  This term we are building a music wall in the playground, and will also be taking part in the Chipping Norton Music Festival in March.
Every child has an opportunity to learn music and try an instrument while with us and we hope you will join our celebration of the magic of music and performance this term at school.
