Selena Evangeline Visits Our School
Last week, a singer named Selina Evangeline visited our school for Black History Week. She told us about slave history, particulary the" Slave Trade " and how some of the songs meant something more than we thought. When Africans were enslaved to work on plantation farms, Harriot Tubman (who was a slave herself) decided to make an underground railroad to smuggle overworked slaves out to freedom, even though it was risky as it was illegal. To wrap it up, Selena and our school choir sang some songs, such as Let It Shine and Wade In The Water. Selena had an AMAZING voice and stunned everybody, including the adults!
