Harvest is here...

This week we went to church to celebrate Harvest Festival. Year 5 closed the celebration by explaining about the yam harvest in African countries and the effects of the rains on the continent. Then everyone sang “Africa” and it sounded amazing, starting off with our rainstorm, then moving into the song. When we finished there was clapping and cheering from the audience!

In English we have been inventing our own recount texts, using the example of the Mallory and Irvine best text as a template. We also made excellent mind maps about fronted adverbials, including lots of examples.

We made poppies, on Friday, ready for a Remembrance display in term 2. Some of us also painted large pictures of Paddington Bear and the sign for Paddington Station. These will be part of a large display of our Kenning poems.

Well done all the members of 5B who represented the school at a rugby tournament: Gabe, George, Max, Tom, Joe, Liberty, Ellie, Ethan and Toby.

Congratulations to table of the week –Fuji (again)
