It's been another great week in 4W. The children have been enjoying retelling the story of The Great Kapok Tree and yesterday they retold the story in groups with actions. We shot a video and had fun watching it back. We now know the story really well!
In Art we now have the beginnings of a fabulous classroom display with some close up flower drawings in the style of Georgia O'Keeffe. As usual, some amazing Home Learning was completed.
ECO Day was a great success with all of the children focussing on how we can all reduce our usage of single-use plastics. There was some innovative Art and Design happening around the school. Thank you to all of the teachers for giving some time to this. At break time, I overheard some Year 1 children questioning why our fruit that is delivered to school has so much plastic packaging!
Eco Day (Ocean Day) also fitted in really well with our discussions about deforestation. The children are enjoying getting stuck into this topic and we have been having some great debates.
Superstars were Kyle and Jensen this week. Star of the week was Lahna for her brilliant acting and entertaining reading of The Witches.
