This week in Science we have been looking at solids, liquids and gases. We melted some chocolate, looking at the changing state of melting, looking at how long it would take for a bag of chocolate buttons to melt. We also tested the temperature of the melting chocolate, made predictions and talked about how to make something a fair test.
In our English Lessons we have been looking at pronouns (SPaG) and where we find them and what they are. We have designed our own sea monsters, including alliteration, similes and adjectives. We also described our own settings, really creating an image in the mind of our reader.
This week in math we started off looking at inverse operations (opposites e.g. addition is the opposite of subtraction). We then ordered numbers on number lines and rounded up and down. Our next lesson, we looked at counting 10, 100’s and 1000’s, counting on and back. We even had time to do a speedy maths lesson on numbers greater than and less than – we were all amazing at that!
In our PSHE lessons we have been looking at our new topic healthy me, this is us not only in staying healthy with food and exercise but also with our friends, what we do and the decision we make.
We all had a great day on world book day. Everyone in our class dressed up and we even did a cat walk show with Mr Owens class. On that day, we also read with class 1P, which was brilliant fun. It was nice to be role models to the younger students in the school and get to know them.
We continued with our computing lessons this week, looking at coding. And in topic we have also continued with our Vikings and Anglo- Saxons topic. Our brilliant home learning came in handy.
We have all enjoyed this week with lots of fun lessons.
