This week in English we have been continuing with our persuasion topic ‘Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus’. We have planned our own versions of the story on a story board, including our own persuasive sentences and illustrations. By the end of the week we will have started to create our own books in neat that will be read to the year 2’s next week.
In Maths this week we have been looking at decimals. In particular, rounding and greater or less than of different digit decimals. Tomorrow we will be revising our knowledge of division, dividing 2-digit numbers by 10 and 3 – digit multiplies of 10 and 100 to get decimals numbers and multiply decimal numbers by 10/100 to get 2-digit / 3-digit numbers. Next week we will be looking at amounts of money and addition and subtraction.
We have continued our new geography topic of rivers, this week looking at the water cycle. We created some excellent paper plate water cycle displays that you will see up in the class by the end of the week. In Indoor PE we have started a new topic, dance. In dance we are learning how to Irish dance.
Please remember that home learning is handed out on a Friday and your child needs to bring in their book by the Wednesday.
Also, spellings for the whole term were handed out at the start of this term. They should have all been put inside their spelling folders.
If your child does not have the spellings or home learning, please let me know as soon as possible.
Have a lovely weekend.
