Last week of term
What a brilliant and very busy we have had!
This week (or 4 days…) we have been working extremely hard. In particular, we have been creating our own lessons to teach the Year 5 children. This topic this terms teaching was Vikings. We had to choose one of the areas of the Vikings we had already learnt about and create a PowerPoint, lesson plan and resources. We worked in groups of 4 and taught our lessons today. It was great fun and the children absolutely adore doing this.
On Wednesday we were fortunate enough to go to the Jewish Synagogue in Oxford. We had a very busy day around there looking at the different holidays and festivals they celebrate, clothes they wear, prayers they make and what the Synagogue looks like. We were very lucky to be given a Passover experience, tasting the different foods, reading the prayers and acting out the stories taught at Passover. We had a super day and thank you to Mrs Lammond, Ms Lowen, Mrs Jones and Ms Cruise for coming with us and supporting us throughout the day.
Today, we also made pizzas, thinking about the cooling and heating properties and the healthy side of pizzas. It was great fun and as we made so many, we even got to eat 2 / 3 slices each!
I hope you all have a magnificent Easter and a relaxing break.
