This week in English, we have been looking at possessive Apostrophes in SPaG, reminded ourselves of capital letters and full stops and also did some comprehension activities. We have been continuing with our Shakespeare topic, doing comprehension activities, learning all about other pieces of Shakespeare’s work and reading more of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Class 4J have really taken to this play and have produced a fabulous piece of drama, summarising the whole play in under 6 minutes! They have done this completely independently and really look forward to showcasing this on Saturday’s festival.

In Maths this week, we have been looking at equivalent fractions with different denominators. We then looked at recognising these different decimal fractions and their equivalents in different settings. Later on in the week, we then looked at adding 2,3 and 4 – digit numbers together and then subtracting them, using either the compact or expanded methods. We also looked at mentally adding and subtracting those numbers.

In Art this week, we created some beautiful pieces for the festival, all based on William Shakespeare. We created some skulls out of clay, Tatiana fairies using different materials and also giant Shakespeare signs for the drama tent. We have also been doing a lot of practicing for our performance on Saturday.

We are all really looking forward to Saturday’s festival. Thank you to all the staff who have organised it, but particularly Miss Coles and Mr Owens!
