This week has been a tremendous week for 4J! We cannot believe how quickly these weeks seem to be going and that we only have one more week left together!
In English this week, we have been looking at letter writing. Starting with, how a letter is formed and what is needed in a persuasive letter. We then looked at examples of different letters and hopefully next week will write our letters!
In Maths, we continued with our topic, line graphs and concluded on Wednesday. We looked at the different formations of line graphs, the plotting and also word problems related to them. We also, created our own! Later in the week, we learnt how to multiply 3 digit numbers by 1, using either the column method or box method. This has been set for our home learning, as a consolidation.
We have continued with our Science topic, ‘Living things and their habitats’. This week, we looked at vertebrates and invertebrates, researching the different kinds and recording different examples. In computing, we also designed our own songs, which was brilliant and we definitely have some future DJ’s!
On Thursday, we were extremely lucky to have the people from ‘Chance to Shine’ come in and film us playing different cricket games, for the WHOLE day! This was a fantastic experience were we learnt so many new skills and techniques and also got to play loads of games outside! By the end of the day, we were tired after all of our activities. It was a brilliant day and all of us had a fantastic time!
Finally, on Friday we held our annual Governors awards ceremony in the church. We walked to and from the church with our partner class 1P and we each had our own little Year 1 to look after! This Year’s winner was Katie Smithson, for her hard work and dedication to her learning. It was a brilliant service, where we got to listen to the teacher’s brilliant speeches and see who the lucky recipient of the award was. Miss Jobbins even cried when she said her speech, after thanking the school and our class for being so brilliant and hardworking!
We are all looking forward to our last week of school but we will all miss Year 4. Here is to a brilliant final week!
