Week 4 in 3SH has flown by with much activity. It may be November but in R.E we all have enjoyed re-visiting ‘The Nativity Story’, identifying key characters, the setting, and the meaning. All the children are working hard to learn their Christmas Songs for the Nativity. The words to ‘Away in a Manger’ have changed since I was their age so I have some more learning to do too!
Hop on Subtraction is a really clever way to do take away calculations. Children have been embedding their understanding and learning through many different approaches – ‘On the Boil’, ‘Investigation’, white board practice and calculations in their book. There was no ceiling to anyone’s learning as children were allowed to devise their own calculations using two three digit numbers if they so wished.
Linking to our Science we have enjoyed working with an information text about caves. White Scar Cave in Yorkshire is 350 million years old! Ask the children to share their learning with you or tell you about the poster they made!
Thank you Super Stars Thomas C and Harry H, well done Magical Mathematician Bella, Times Table Champion Sayal, Top achiever Isla and Resilient Jordan.
