What a great first week back! We have all worked extremely hard.
In English this week we have started to imitate the new tragedy story called ‘Why the seagull cries’. We have been able to identify the conjunctions, nouns and verbs in the text. We have been looking at sentence fluency and how a conjunction joins two clauses together. We made puppets of the main characters in the story and used them to make a puppet show.
In Maths this week we have been adding, partitioning and recombining using the year 3 method. We have used dienes and arrow cards to help us partition numbers. We have also started to add three numbers together.
In geography this week we have been learning about land use. We were able to discuss how land was used in the past and how it is used now. We have also been able to say why people might settle and live where they do.
