Blogg by Annie, Lucy, Joe and Thomas C.

We started our week with a further Nativity run through and Miss Staples is impressed by how many of us have learned our words and working hard to add expression and intonation when reading our lines. We are really enjoying learning the songs and dances too!

In English we began to learn a new text which is a 'discussion' - 'Should Jack have stolen from the Giant?' We needed some words 'clarifying' and used a dictionary to find out the definition of tricky words like debating, possessions, community and aggravating.

In Maths we revisited counting in mulitiples of 2, 5 and 10 and then applied this strategy to help us make larger money amounts. Many of us are able to make amounts involving pounds and pence.

In Computing we looked at a game called 'scratch tennis' which is based on a very old game called 'Pong' Do you remember it!  We couldn't believe that the first games were in black and white and were so simple. We discussed how we thought the game worked and predicted what would happen when the ball was hit or missed and how to control the action. We then generated ideas of how to improve the game, like adding players and sound effects.

Miss Staples was very pleased with our Spelling assessment this week and says a big thank you for supporting us in learning them.
