What a busy, fun week of learning 2S have had. After exploring materials, we designed our kites. We had to think carefully about what we had learned when flying our protypes to help us improve the original design. We completed our designs by labelling the parts and listing the materials we need for each part. We are very excited about making them next week! Oh and of course flying them! We continued with our 'Fantastic Flight' learning on Friday when Captain Johnston came to visit us. We learned alot about the plane he flies - the 777 which carries 300 passengers and that he can have a cuppa in the cock pit! We also learned about the important jobs other people do at airports for example the baggage collectors and air traffic control. Joe and Bea were our Pilot and Co Pilot for our quick flight to Paris and Maisie and Daniel were the Steward and Stewardess. We loved the flight simulation and inflight meal and cheered when we landed safely!
Miss Staples thoroughly enjoyed reading our completed writes of Explanation texts. She has learned why famous footballers become grumpy, aliens turn angry and orangutans become lunatics to name but a few texts we have written. The writing environment in class earned us several marbles in the jar as we were all so engaged in our writing and very reflective when editing our work.
Well Done 2S for a fantastic week of learning and your fabulous singing in church for the Harvest festival.
Photos will be added of the Paris flight in the week.
