Thank you to Paige Atherton for supporting Lewis Atherton, Lake Black and Ieuan Davis with their blog contributions.

We warmed our brains up on Monday with a Maths investigation about the 'Magic Plant'.  We had to find the answer to the question 'How tall would the plant be on Monday if on Friday it was 2cm tall and it double in height every day?  We showed our understanding in a variety of ways, making lists, applying doubling strategies, drawing pictures and using cubes.  Some of us extended our thinking by inventing a problem where the plant was a different height on the Friday. For example, Harvey (photo -original problem), worked out how tall the plant would be on the Monday if it was 10cm tall on the Friday.  Can you?

In English we decided our own success criteria for our writing.  We chose the features that we wanted to include such as alliteration, the Power of 3, similes, interesting verbs, adverbs and adjectives as well as puntuation that included speech marks.  Miss Staples awarded us marbles every day for our focused writing and quiet learning environment during the writing sessions because we were so 'lost in our learning'.

The Nativity preperations are well underway.  In Games we have begun to learn a Samba Dance for Lights Camel Action! and in Music we are learning the songs and a Line Dance. The children with speaking parts are working very hard to learn their lines too.

Excellent Spelling results this week 2S - keep up the hard work!
