It was lovely to welcome back the children on Monday. All were bright eyed and busy tailed with sun kissed faces and eager to learn. This eagerness was consistent throughout the week resulting in a bumber Marbles in the Jar Week!
The children loved the new text 'Five men in a fishing boat' - a humorous tale. They really saw the funny side and their faces were a picture when they realised what was going to happen! They have imitated the text verbally using story maps and also listened carefull to the story being told to them and sketched each section to retell it through pictures. This was a new activity this week and you could have heard a pin drop their engagement was incredible. We have some budding little artists too.
Maths has been a reviewing of fractions again as this is an area of learnign that can be quite challenging if presented in different ways. The children's progress has been excellent. The children took their fraction learning outside during Outdoor Learning by creating fraction walls using sticks and then using stones to represent division and coverted it into fractions.
Friendship has been a focus in Jigsaw/PSHE and the children wrote poems entitled 'A Recipe for Friendship'. The results were quite emotive and 2S really understand what ingredients are needed to be a truly good friend.
Have a fabulous Bank Holiday Weekend!
