This week we have been learning alot about 2d shapes and their properties.  We have used mirrors to find lines of symmetry, angle eaters to identify right angles and been learning to use the language of shape properties to not only to describe shapes but also to ask Miss Staples questions to identify the shape she is thinking of.  Try it at home - it is great fun!  We have sorted shapes using Venn Diagram and revisted Carrol Diagrams which we will be part of our Monday Investigation.

We have begun to learn a new Non-Fiction text - 'Why do some Giants become Grumpy? This is an Explanation Text and we have also been identifying their features.  We use key words and actions to help us retell the text and next week we will begin innovating.

In RE we have been looking at further stories Jesus told about kindness and developing our understanding of how the people who met Jesus may have felt.

In Art we arranged lots of quadrilateral and triangular shapes to create abstract birds for our large Matisse display influenced by a piece by the French artist Henri Matisse called Polynesia. We also looked at his piece called 'The Snail' and recreated natural collages during Outdoor Learning inspired by its abstract nature.

Thank you for your continued support reading with your children.
