This week in Maths we have been very busy learning about place value. We have learnt how to represent two digit numbers using diennes and record number sentences using tens and ones. We have also had lots of counting in tens practice to help us with our tens and ones learning.
In English this week we began imitating our new story 'Harry and the Dinosaurs make a Christmas Wish.' We shall begin innovating key parts of this story next week.
Our Walking with Dinosaurs learning is nearing its end with only three weeks of term remaining. We have learnt this week that dinosaurs did not swim but waded, and therefore focused this week's learning on the swimming reptiles that lived in the seas during the time of dinosaurs. We have been very creative, designing our own swimming reptiles with the same key features: streamlined, flippers, elongated body and elongated face.
