After being outside with the older children on Wednesday lunchtime I returned to find a letter (image for this week’s blog) had been left on my desk, written by children in Foundation Stage. I went with eager anticipation to look at the incubator to find they had a made a splendid model and could explain in great detail not only how the incubator worked but also its function. You couldn’t help but be inspired by their enthusiasm and skills in so many different areas. Their smiles and pride when they were presented with their Headteacher award stickers were truly inspirational and put a real spring in my step.
Hollywood and Hotdogs has quickly become a well-established tradition at school. The children really enjoy the opportunity of returning to school on a Friday, to watch a film with friends and of course have their Hotdog. Yesterday was no exception, with just about 250 children taking part. FOBPS have clearly got the organisation for this event down to a very fine art and of course it would not be possible without many members of staff giving up their early Friday evening to make it happen.
Quite rightly, the focus of my blogs is invariably the children. They are, and will continue to be, at the heart of our school. However, I would like on this occasion to also recognise the contribution of those members of staff who may not work directly with children. Without their dedication, commitment and skill the school would be a much poorer place to work, learn and play.
