Remember, Remember

Once again we were fortunate with the ideal Autumn weather for our annual Firework Display on Friday. There were more people than ever before and certainly nobody seemed to leave disappointed. It was a really splendid occasion: excellent fireworks, wonderful refreshments of different types to suit all tastes leading to a really enjoyable evening for all present. The whole local community coming together created a really excellent atmosphere which will I am sure stay with people for many a dark Autumn evening over the coming weeks. Of course these kind of events can only happen with the commitment and hard work of those who organise the event beforehand and who help on the day itself. This time it really was a team effort and illustration of many hands making the difference.

During last week and the holiday itself we had further examples of staff, family and friends making the difference. As a result we now have new metal storage unit on a fine cement base for all our games and lunchtime equipment. I know that many hours of voluntary work were undertaken to complete the project. It has been another fine example of the Bloxham team working successfully towards a common goal.

Occasionally in my blog I focus on the work of unsung heroes at school. This week I was like to highlight the work of our before and after school team, who provide such a high quality service from the time breakfast club opens at 8am until the closure of after school at 6pm. I know that their cheerful manner, coupled with range of activities makes all the difference to parents and their children who use the additional service.
