The children have been given their very first reading books!

They were delighted to receive them, along with a reading diary. We would like to encourage parents to share these books and support the children in segmenting & blending 'green words'. The children will enjoy using the illustrations to help tell the story.

This week we have been creating a story mountain, based on Pinocchio. The mountain has 5 steps; including the 'problem' at the summit.

We had lots of fun using the mountain to re-tell the story. Discussing the 'solution' was the best part. The children used some fabulous descriptive vocabulary to describe the whale & how Pinocchio rescued his Pappa!

We have also made our own puppet theatre and stick puppets.

In our Maths sessions this week we are introducing the topic of money. We will create a shop for our role play area & have a till filled with real money!
