'Happy (Chinese) New Year!'

We're celebrating Chinese New Year this week in Foundation.

It is the year of the Rooster.

We're in the process of creating an amazing, roaring dragon! The children have painted an enormous box for it's head and cut out red card for the flames.

We are making Chinese fans, using paper plates and lolly sticks and decorating them with bright material.

We have got some cooked noodles and real chop sticks in our 'Tough Spot' (malleable) tray.

On Friday we will be sampling some Chinese food and we'll use our chop sticks for that too!

In Literacy we are innovating the character - Pinocchio.

The children could choose another toy in his place. We had some great ideas...Super Girl, Wall-e, Spider Boy, even John Cena! Imagine how he'd save Gepetto when he'd been swallowed by The Whale!
