We have started a new science topic on Materials and their properties, what they are made of and what they can be used for. On Thursday, we investigated different foams. We went outside and made elephant foam! All the bubbles came up and out of the bottle, then they went all over the playground – sorry Mr Coles!
In Maths we have been practising multiplying using mental and written methods.
In English we have been reading the opening of a narrative. We made a story map and used it to retell the story start, including the important features of the text and discussing how to include suspense in our stories.
This week, in PE, we have started hockey and we learned about passing and dribbling.
Music has been really fun this week…we have been writing our own lyrics for songs in the style of 12 bar blues.
Today (Friday) has been Remembrance Day. The whole school observed a two minutes silence. Mr Owens played the Last Post and we heard the two gun shots which marked the beginning and end of the silence. When it was over Mr Owens played the Reveille on his cornet. We remembered all the people who have died or been injured in wars. We told stories about members of our families who were involved in wars.
