This week has been a brilliant week for learning in 4J! This week we have started to imitate our texts for English, starting with a very exciting surprise guest. Mr Sharp, who is a representative of the BFG (shhh, it’s a secret!)  Came to visit our class, on Wednesday, and told us all about how and what we need to do to distribute dreams, just like the BFG. All the children had a fabulous time and Mr Sharp was excellent at passing across the instructions of the BFG.

We have been continuing on with our Yoga lessons, this week focusing more on our breathing and calming techniques. We have also learnt some very interesting movements! We have been and will be continuing to use our new breathing techniques in the classroom and at break to help us re-focus. The techniques practiced this week have included: the warrior; the cat; downward dog, the pretzel and tree pose.

Times tables has been a priority this week, practicing using our Pokémon times table quiz and also in maths, where we have been focusing on the 3X, 6X and 12X. For some, the focus has also included the 24X tables – looking at doubling. We have used a variety of techniques and methods, and should now all be experts!

On Friday (30.9.16) we started our Roman Colosseums out of junk. We all became Roman architects and used our planning to start. This will be an ongoing project over the next few weeks, as Rome wasn’t built in a day! Thank you to all the parents and carers who bought in the mountains of resources for us. We have been getting through them slowly but surely!

In regards to the Home learning, all children have a login in name and password (if these have been lost or forgotten, please tell your child to ask Mr Owens or Miss Jobbins) and the school code for the bottom. There are 3 different level challenges, students please remember to challenge and push yourselves to try something different! These are to be completed by Wednesday.

Here is to another brilliant week!
