This week has been a very jam packed week for all in 4J! Especially jam filled, as this week in English we have been learning all about instruction texts. We started off the week by each writing what we think an instruction text looks like – focusing on how to make a jam sandwich. Miss Jobbins then followed those instructions, whilst we DIRTED our work to make it clear to the reader and make sure we had every step. We have also been innovating how to distribute different objects, emotions and foods. Everyone came up with very creative ideas such as distributing presents, blood, hugs and cookies!

In maths, we have been learning all about angles, particularly the differences between acute, obtuse and right angles. We have also been look at different parallel and perpendicular lines. For one of our lessons, we searched the playground to find all of these different angles and lines and recorded their shapes and degrees.

During topic, we have been continuing our theme of the Romans. We have nearly completed our colosseum out of junk modelling, but it is still an ongoing process – Rome wasn’t built in a day. In order to do this, we have been using the junk to create pillars and arches which are put together and then all been joined. The children designed their models first.

In PSHE, we have been learning all about not judging people by their looks but by their personalities and also bullying, how to understand when it is going on, how and where. We have made posters, using facts we have researched, to show when bullying is happening and how to stop it.

We have also continued with our learning on Harvest festival and have been rehearsing for our part in the service. It is all coming along excellently and the children have worked extremely hard.

Here is to another brilliant week!
