This week in 4J we have been learning about Judaism in our RE lessons. We have created our own Mezuzah’s, which are rolled up prayers that Jewish people touch as they pass through doors. They have included our own designs on them and each have our own prayer.
We have also been inventing our own instruction texts and tomorrow we will be finishing off writing our final draft, on A3 paper, to create a class instructions book. It has been excelling to see the class develop in their learning and the ideas they have chosen. Some include, ‘How to speak correctly to the Queen’ and ‘How to make the perfect Witches sandwich!’
In maths we have been learning about time, learning to the minute on a clock, converting analogue to digital (and vice versa) and working out time intervals.
Tomorrow, we will be creating our Roman shields in Topic, first designing them, using all of the research and information we gathered on Monday, when we researched life as a Roman Soldier, including: their clothes; day to day life; routine; stages of the army; and what was life like when you wanted/ could leave. It is great to see how interested and engaged the children are about history, particularly the pieces of equipment the Roman soldiers used.
We are all really looking forward to the Harvest festival tomorrow. Everyone has been practicing really hard at the songs, hymns and readings for tomorrow. See you then!
Here is another brilliant week!
